I've been a cat lover for most of my life, but lately I've acquired dogs as well. Introducing a new species has been anything but easy. When we first decided to get a dog, we got a three-year-old springer spaniel from Chiltern Dog Rescue. At that point we had a siamese and a moggie. Jonnie, the siamese, was extremely timid, and just could not be around the dog. We thought that things would never change, although everyone told us that they would come round in the end. Which they did - after Jonnie's death, when the other cat (who lived outdoors) decided to come in, where she just ignores the dogs.
So I decided to do some research into how you can get the two species to get along, so that other people will not need to go through what we or our cats have done.
